happy teacher's day to all teachers!

my class bought my form teacher a soccer ball, all signed by us =) then it was placed in this box and then labelled 'combat rations'. haha cos he going reservist next week. =D
It's not exactly a very entertaining video so just skip it if you're in a rush




The concert was quite .. ok. The starting performance was DAMN good. boogaloo dance. if i can i upload the video later. it was damn damn damn nice. best of the whole damn concert. then there was some songs by various individuals.. which were.. underperformed. Those people could do better but dunno why today like cannot make it.


Then.. later went to play pool with sec4 buddies =) jeremy weixuan alwyn. Felt like old times.

WA I WAS DAMN ON FORM CAN. I think i scored like.. 5-6 doubles. On a good day normally i only score 1-2. most of the time i miss one. Then today after not playing for like 2 months i actually made several with ease!! i can't believe it man.
My shooting was better than i expected. alot better. i only lost one game, which was 9ball game when i missed a foxy on the 9ball and my friend got it.
Earlier on when playing 8ball we were playing some rotation format so i didnt get to stay foreve r ^^ 9ball other than that game i won all ^^

pool rocks.


After that me jeremy and alwyn went pizza hut =)

we ordered the $6.95 student meal (they cheated us! christabel insisted it was $5.95 then i checked their website and it WAS $5.95! Stupid PS outlet!

what a dream

wow. i had a really vivid dream which i was DAMN happy when i woke up, because it was a terribly bad dream. I am going to recount as much of it as i can.. it isn't particularly interesting but i just want to recount it. you can skip this entry if you are busy.

This entry isn't entertaining at all. It's just me recalling my dream. so you dont have to read it if you dont want to. here we go.

For some context, one of my worst fears in life is of being ignored/ostracised. ok perhaps 'fear' is a wrong word. but when i get ignored etc, i get super depressed. like super duper. really bad. It's like.. a soccer player breaking both legs. Or a bowler getting his thumb infected and needs to be wrapped with 10 layers of bandage. I get super sad.

Ok with that context in mind, let's get into the dream.
girls a and b are 2 girls that i know. I talk to girl a quite often abt stupid stuff, quite fun to talk to her. I won't reveal where they are from nor their identities. guy a is a good guy friend of mine. ditto.


We were all at some gathering.. and Girls a and b were together as usual. and being the usual 'affectionate' girls they are, they were touching each other. Like holding hands, talking, hands keep moving on each other's arms. I guess this is pretty normal for girls.


then after a while, girl a got up, then walked past me. then i 'tsktsked' as she passed. She turned at me inquisitively. 'so les', i said.
she pouts and stares at me. 'eh where got'
'yes lor. you all are damn sick'.
some more conversation was exchanged until it got fairly heated, i can't remember exactly what, until i said:
me: 'i even videoed you all lar. damn scandalous. i'm going to post on youtube'
girl A: 'wth?eh you better not'
me: too late. im going to spread your les behaviour. (i have no idea i said this i definitely wouldnt say this in real life. but then again, it's a dream. )

Girl A storms off, infuriated. she refuses to talk to me ever again.

after a while i realised my mistake. how stupid why would i go and post the video for what. i didnt even think i videoed anything, i said it out of angst. i went up to girl A to apologize.

She totally snubbed me.

I was damn sian, as i simply loathe being ignored. damn damn sian. the emotions was damn high. then i tried every way to get her to listen to me.

ok this part is damn weird and doesnt make sense, but a dota element came in. see ah, in dota you can 'disable' someone by stunning him with a spell. So i used some disables to stop Girl A from moving away while i tried to pacify her and get her to forgive me.
i tried damn hard. i kept trying. but she wouldn't. she just walked away and was still pissed.

i smsed her. alot of times. i kept apologizing but she just wouldnt even bother to reply. Then guy A comes along, and asked me what swrong. then he even help me sms her. but she refused to reply. she just daoed me.

then i dont know WHAT happened, but something happened or i said something i really can't remember, guy A got quite pissed with me too. then he ignored me completely.

Then it was pretty weird because i always hung out with him and several others. so like we still walked together, but we never walked next to each other. and he just kept avoiding me. like we are like poles of a magnet.
damn weird can! a guy doing this! but yea i felt terrible. now not just a girl but a guy daoing me.

i was feeling REALLY sian. like totally. like you spent 2 months putting together a giant model of some dinosaur then your dog smashed it into smithereens. like you studied like mad for a test and you got the lowest mark in class.

then... i woke up.

Whew.

ok if this post wasnt entertaining, i already told you it wouldn't be. just needed to get me off my chest.

i'm glad it was just a dream.

as the title says. i thought i deleted it. Apparently the website fixed it fast. So the bleach picture is gone. basically someone submitted a picture of ichigo and it made it to the mural. haha.

sunday.. pretty boring because didn't get to play basketball. damn rusty la.. i think i'll airball next saturday if i even get to play.

thrashed everyone in pepsi cola though ^_^ The first round was damn power.. daniel killed off both of the girls (wl and yvon) then my feet were like 30 cm away from his. THEN HE MISSED his kill! cos i like jumped up. Then i sweeped and I MISSED TOO! Our feet were like at most 1 foot apart. Then he stab forward AND MISSED TOO! I jumped clear. Then i made a strategic sweep that i'm so proud off i'll draw a picture












ok this is a really simple rough picture i know. but basically, my feet are the ones in black, his is red. So logically you'll go for the foot in front cos it's nearer. But i made a wide sweep to the one at the back. So as predicted, he jerked his front foot back but i caught the back leg easily. FOOOO!
2nd round not so power, only moses yvon wl play. Then i won after wl kill yvon then laughing then i sweep her.


went to play LAN with the guys later.. damn sian, lost my first game ever with them. should have repicked stupid Ursa whom i don't really like and the last time i used was probably a few months ago. won the other 2 games though. i miss my razer krait =D it's really quite nice once you get used to it. very smooth, very nice to click.

an update

hey hey :) i know it's been a while that i've typed anything substantial.. like.. at least something to provoke you to think. but those things come by 'feeling' one and cannot just force out like when you go toilet

haha ok anyway. i've been pretty busy lately, and promos are coming :S note that i said AND promos are coming, so that means by busy-ness is not entirely because of studies.

Well in JC you take this 'subject' called Project Work, which you are given a topic which you have to do an entire project about with your group members. Yup that has been one of the things i've been busy with. Writing evaluation of materials.. contributing to the final written report.. etc etc. late nights woooo.

Another thing i've been busy with was the decoration of the strategy club notice board :) well in case you've been living under a rock or haven't been reading this board, i'm the president of my school's Strategy Games Club. Before you ask what that is, read this blog entry.

(on a side note, man, i love how blogger archives the previous entries. each entry is given a name based on the title and date. for example if i put my title has pig, the link to it will be http://alanz-.blogspot.com/2006/08/pig.

The buttons damn nice to click and the sensitivity is super power.. i reduce half already but still super power. wahahha. damn shiok. only bad thing is that it seems a little warm. and i'm not very used to the super ergonomic design yet (my old mouse is big and fat) so my hand a little uncomfortable.

I am a blood donor!

woo. The healthcare people came to my school for a blood donation drive.. and my friend signed me up for it so i just went lor =X It was my first time!!

haha i was slightly nervous before it - i never liked needles much. Not the shaky-intense fear, but the jittery exam feeling.

Ok if anyone wants to donate blood in the future and is afraid /apprehensive for some reason, don't be. Well, i'm here to enlighten you on the exact procedures. :)


Firstly, you have to fill up this questionaire form thing. Mainly about whether you have any STDs la ^_^
Then you go to a nurse who keys in your personal particulars.
Then you go queue up to be evaluated by a doctor, who basically goes through the important points in the questionaire you have taken, and takes your blood pressure. If it's too high or too low you cannot donate. Mine was borderline, lucky sia. Some people were rejected.

After that comes the blood test.. this nurse will poke you with this spring-needle. The needle just springs out and pricks you. It sounds like a damn STAPLER la, so when i heard it done on my friend i was like.. 'oww'. I mean, stapling yourself!?!?
But it wasnt that bad la. A sudden prick.. then the nurse will squeeze your finger so the blood drips out. Don't worry that isn't very painful.
Then if you pass that.. on to the blood donation!


Basically , the nurse swabs your forearm area with alcohol. Then she injects you with a painkiller (that's what she called it), which makes that area numb. Then she injects you with a BIG needle that sucks your blood out :) It's about 10-15 minutes of sucking before the process is done.

Ok haven't blogged in a while.. was.. rather busy. Well i don't really have much to say but just show you some random pictures . haha.

Saturday-- went to j8 with joanne to shop for some stuff. and guess who i saw:
















Ok i have no idea what her name is and i know the picture is kinda blur, but i scared la!! joanne was like 'eh you take la if you want . go closer and take'. Then i super scared . haha. try to guess who it is. haha. i think her name is michelle something, but i'm not entirely sure. mediacorp actress i think. or mediaworks? dunno la. tv actress.

she was hosting some stupid foot size competition, and.. she's super chio la. haha. i don't know why i never liked her before but i think because she always acts as those fierce dominating wives/businesswomen so i don't like. but she's really very chio.


The carpenter's tools concert was quite ok. I heard many of their songs before already because they performed at my school. zZz.Dinner was so... sparse. didn't really feel satiated even though i had jesslyn's pork ribs also.
Took a few lousy pictures, lighting was bad, so i won't post them.


sunday--
woo damn shack man. played 3 hours of soccer+bball. I scored 2 goals in soccer i think.maybe 3. but fumble alot also. Then in bball it was oldies vs youngies-- jonchoo,benben,danloh,ivin vs me,giddy,gabs,aaronkoh.
They won 2-1. But the last set only 7 points..normally it's 11 one right.
Anyway, i still can't freaking qie properly. my footsteps always too slow/not correct, i only move my hands. oh well, made alot of sweet shots to make up for my awkward-failed-qie-then-pass-out.

oh, then today some girls decided to tie their hair in tiny pigtails. then later at sss lydia go and tie for graham.

but one highlight today was my GP teacher walked out of the class. :) We didn't bring a set of reading material which she didn't even ask us to bring, so she say we were not prepared and we came to school not to have GP lesson. so she walked out.

We freaking cheered and celebrated the moment she was out of earshot la.

hahaha. noob. think throw tantrum can scare us ah. as if she stay in class and teach got any use. i think she don't come to class and we self-study we can learn more since she always confuses us anyway.

okie, so far what i've typed has totally no relevance to the title right. Well, today i took a video of john and teehao dancing. :) (they're my classmates) We were in the CC to audition some guy for our concert, then the song 'That thing you do' was playing, so they just started dancing, and i whipped out my camera of course :)


I'm the one who says 'louder music', because it was quite soft, and i was quite sure my lousy HP mike cannot pick up, which was true. bahz. haha enjoy.

For those of you who had any experience at all in photoshop, i had 62 layers in total for this work. ^_^ damn shackz. the shadowing very hard to do.

But the satisfaction at the end of it.... is sheer bliss. :D

walao, i reach home at 8.30pm today.

we had to stay back till so late because we had concert rehearsal.. so extra la. other classes do things like flag day.. visit old folks home.. visit KK hospital.. my class have to do CONCERT. and i tell you ah, the preparations are super shiong.

Firstly, the Carpenter's Tools came to SAJC to perform today! They're the band who will be playing at the concert on 12th august at YFC. =) They're REALLY good ok.
Hmm, it was part of a chapel programme. Then gretchen (the pro blonde singer) share testimony.. they act a skit.. then had a little response form given to us to fill up.

And you know the guy who sang during Sunday School worship? That lean angmoh. His name is Karl if i'm not wrong. Guess what - he sang 'Tong Hua' !!!!
Yes, the chinese song. and he sang it superbly can! There wasn't the typical chinesespeakingangmoh accent, but was rather normal. And, the song is rather challenging in terms of pitching and singing ability, he sang it almost perfect can! Karl's damn funky la. he keep moving his body also. haha.

Then.. they gave out these small gifts. Quite meaningful.

A nicely wrapped up cup. Ok it doesn't look very nice but it's because i opened it then realised i wanna take photo of it so i wrapped it myself =X

SAJC is INFESTED with millipedes. There's this path that is literally 'The Millipede Walkway', because there are like over 10 millipedes there and over 10 squashed ones. =X Then now they seem to have moved house, got another walkway always got millipedes. Then they always get squashed la.. i mean, it's a walkway.

I'm the president of Strategy Games Club!!! ahh!!!

Ok , first question which 99% of people asked me when i told them this was: 'What the hell / what on earth is strategy club?"
Well, it's a club where you play card games/ board games/ chess / any other kinda games you can think off. not gameboy la. and not computer games (though it may change in the future ^^)

Had elections today, i just gave a speech and go through interview. Then i think it was rigged la.. cos i kinda know the previous president. Then before everything he passed me the j1 attendance list and ask me help him take attendance and ask me befriend the j1s.
hahaha.

But yea. i'm scared.

It's the first time i'll be in a 'head' position. The closest i've ever came was Games IC like 2 years ago. But even then, i never took centrestage and tried to siam everything. You notice i never really made a briefing or anything.
Then now i'm PRESIDENT leh!! how to siam! gotta brief everyone and talk to the j1s at the start and all the nonsense. ahh. siao liao. oh well. can train oratorical skills. How do you spell that.

My class (with another class ) is putting together a concert on the 15th of August (Tues), 6.30pm. The performances will range from SAJC Concert Band Clarinets section, SAJC (award winning) Dance Society, to performances by SAJC students with various song items. (solo + band)

Furthermore, the proceeds of this concert will go to Mercy Relief, an independent organisation that provides aid to
natural and man-made disaster victims.

hmm, hello. didn't know you read my blog =X why do you say i'm attention whoring? By the way, that previous post was generated because of you , you know :)
It's not your fault at all, but it was because after i went to your blog, then chris was telling me abt how popular your blog is, then i started questioning my own blog's viewership. hence the self-doubt etc.
As a blogger yourself, i think you'll agree when i say you WANT people to read your blog. i mean, who doesn't? Unless it's a personal diary, bloggers generally blog because they want the world to read/view it. What's the point of posting pictures / writing things when noone reads them?
Which brings me back to my question, why do you say i'm 'attention whoring'? I really wanna know. i mean, it's definitely a negative thing - so i want to correct it =X could you post a comment on this entry? (tagboard is so small). Thanks alot =)

RY, i really don't get what you're trying to criticize here. When you say 'seem like you're trying to get the whole world's attention', do you mean it in an exaggerated way (you seem to want to get the attention of all your friends and acquaintances) or do you literally mean the whole world, as in the public?

I've looked through my most recent entries, namely the latest page. I still can't find a decent example of attention-whoring.

Let's examine this very first tag of yours: "Ruiyi: Just my two cents, you're overdoing the attention whore thing. Nono, not good."

What exactly is attention-whoring? To paraphrase, i would say it's attention-hoarding, or to try to accumulate attention by various means (often negative)

What type of attention-whoring is there? I can only think of 2 -
a) posting many (attractive) pictures of oneself,(e.g. Dawn Yang) with the purpose of drawing the attention of viewers with those attractive photos. b) writing on controversial topics, (e.g. mrbrown) in order to attract more people with your 'oh-so-wonderful' views.

1) i do not post pictures of myself for no proper reason. any picture posed is purely for entertainment purposes - in other words, for some humour value. If you can pinpoint a picture which is otherwise, let me know.
about the half-naked thing - i still stand by what i say that those are NOT half naked photos, and anyway, now that i have photoshop, i'll just cut out my head only next time, or whatever portions i want.

2) controversial issues? that long rant? I don't write on these for fun you know. Those are things that bother me. i dont like breathing in smoke, i dont like seeing men touch each other in public (indian or not). If i don't go and extinguish all the incense and burning paper and beat up gay men, the only way for me to express my disgruntlement would be by words - through my blog.

So, please enlighten me. Why am i an attention whore.
